This kitchen was conceived by the designer for her own home and family. It was designed with modern convenience and presence of style in mind, while still allowing good circulation around the kitchen space. Additional bench space was also provided to maximise the new layout.
Keeping a modern and clean palette allowed for a stunning (and durable) Dekton island benchtop, in Keranium, to be specified. This benchtop was complimented by cabinetry accents in Resene Digeridoo – an ultra-deep red colour that was replicated in the feature media cabinetry in the adjacent lounge. The brown hues of the Dekton also brought the new oak floor into play.
On the front of the island, a textured, wave-pattern finish is illuminated by a warm-white LED strip. This pattern is replicated on the cabinetry fronts along the back wall. As well as containing a large (1.5) sinks, the kitchen island provides comfortable seating space for all the family members, or guests.
To add another texture to the kitchen, the hob and scullery benchtops are in stainless steel. Finally, a back-painted glass splashback in metallic Copper Fire (Resene) – a rich ember brown colour – was chosen to complete the colour palette of this modern family kitchen.
