This bright new kitchen forms the central hub for a busy family. The brief was for an inviting, modern look and to be a joy to work in, whilst also having a good connection to the garden and pool.
To achieve this outcome the designer relocated the kitchen to a more central position in the home, which allowed for a central island where the family could gather around and cook – as five nights a week the family has My Food Bag, which they all enjoy preparing and sharing.
This kitchen was designed with modern convenience in mind, with a large area of benchtop space provided to maximise the new layout. Two floor-to-ceiling oven towers also contain additional appliance storage, and the placement of the large fridge-freezer on the side wall means it is easily accessible to the adjacent pantry and breakfast-making facilities.
The white/cream od the Alarti marble benchtop, with its veins of warm brown, pick up on the beautiful NZ Blackwood veneer that has been used on the island front and above the cooktop along the back wall. Here, a stainless steel benchtop provides another texture, and is also a practical surface for this high-use area of the kitchen. The addition of a matching suite of appliances adds to the modern clean lines of this family kitchen.
