A bold vision for a luxurious and elegant space saw the creation of this stunning black and brass ensuite.
Having previously delivered their new kitchen renovation, we were delighted to be chosen again when this client was eager to revitalise their ensuite. Part of a 1950’s Auckland home, the existing bathroom offered generous proportions, along with high battened ceilings and detailed scotia. The client was eager to completely reimagine the space and designer, Michelle Gillbanks, worked closely with them to deliver a concept that met the brief in a manner that stayed in keeping with the rest of the home.
Central to the design concept was the selection of large-format, Italian-made tiles in a striking black, marbled with white and bronze. These were laid from floor to ceiling and complemented with a black vanity and custom cabinetry that offered much-desired extra storage.
Throughout the space, consistent use of brushed brass fixtures tied back to the marbling in the wall tiles and brought an additional element of glamour to the room. This extended to a set of brass-framed crystal pendants that feature at either end of the vanity. To bring contrast to the space, a white vanity top and two white basins were selected.
The final layout fulfilled all of the client’s needs, from the feeling of bespoke luxury when you walk into the room, to the highly practical nature of the space.
